Moms and Daughters

As the mother of an only daughter, I enjoy every moment with her.  I especially like to travel with her, I guess because we like the same things and have the same reactions to what we see and do, and of course we have lots of laughs.  For these reasons, I'm always so happy when a mother/daughter duo visits Afton Station while taking a Route 66 vacation.   Today we had such a duo.  The mother and daughter below (and you'll find it hard to tell which is which!) brightened our day with their enthusiasm and excitement about their choice to drive the Mother Road.  They're from Norman, OK so although they began in Chicago and plan to end in L.A., they'll take a week's break at home midway.   Loved meeting them!
It was another slow day by summer standards, but actually not bad considering that it's October.  Our visitors came from Euless TX, Geronimo OK, Belton MD, Grove OK, and Jay, OK.  Among them were a father and son from Jay, and the rest were couples.

I'm pleased to report that we had a very good September.  I knew it was wonderful, but the end-of-month statistics proved it -- quite a few more visitors than last September and almost double the number of sales!  This just goes to show that the popularity of Route 66 continues to increase, and isn't that what it's all about ???
