Pretty Pictures

Pretty cars and a cute kid! What more could one want! First, meet Ellie -- for the second time. Ellie and her parents first visited when Ellie was only 3 months old, our youngest visitor ever. They returned today with a walking, talking version of Ellie, now almost 2 years old. Now Ellie is running around, curious about everything, and declaring that just about everything in the shop is "mine!" The family is from Pottsboro, Texas.
Now, how about some pretty cars. David brought out the '36 Packard, all shined up by Phil and looking awesome, so he could take some folks for a ride tonight. Here it is, with Ron M. doing the admiring. Some folks from the beautiful town of Beaufort, SC came for a visit in their equally lovely Hudson. Sharp car, but. . .

. . . I'm just a bit worried about what they're carrying around in their trunk!
Two couples from Sweden visited early this morning. They came from the towns of Sjogesta and Lagerhyddsgatan. Pronounce those if you dare! The folks were enjoyable visitors who showed an interest in all things Route 66. Here are the Swedish ladies looking through my many boxes of old postcards for sale.
We had 23 visitors altogether, and besides those showcased above, they came from Simi CA, Woodland Hills CA, Vale SD, Waxahachee TX, Hammond IN, Claremore OK, Miami OK, and Terre Haute, IN. It was a busy and productive day.

I think Heather was 3 when we visited you.
I still laugh when I think of Hunter climbing on that Airflow in your lobby! :)

Thanks, Susan! I look forward to seeing you. Can you remind me of the exact day so I can put it in my calendar at Afton?

It was climbed on before Hunter got there, and it has been climbed on since. But you're the good kind of parent who gets upset about that. I've had some parents that just allow their kids to climb all over the cars without saying a word.

We're coming to Afton on Thursday, October 27th. I'll e-mail this to you, too.
