I've spent the last two days buying a car. It's not like it used to be. I bought it yesterday, then had to go back today for "lessons" on using all the buttons, dials, and electronics. My head is swimming.
I'm very happy, nevertheless, with my brand new Subaru Outback with all the bells and whistles. Yes, it's brown. I don't care what you say -- I love it. :-)

Awesome. What's not to love about brown and bells and whistles. :)
Enjoy,
Susie
Thanks, Susie! I can use all the support I can get. :-)
It's BRONZE and it's beautiful!
Nice. I've been considering a Subaru for my next car. Their gas mileage has edged up in the last few years and is flirting with 30 MPG. Both the Forester and the Outback have their own set of pros & cons. I haven't really examined either in several years and was rather shocked at how big a current model Forester seemed parked next to my Vibe. I believe the Outback remains a little smaller (and nicer) so I guess I need to park next to one of those. I'm going to try doing that without an 800 mile drive but I'll keep yours in mind.
Awesome - I like it!
Denny,
Unless I'm mistaken (and I've been mistaken once or twice in my life), the Outback is larger than the Forester. The Outback wheelbase is 107" whereas the Forester's is 103". The Outback weighs about 350 lb more, too. I went for big this time. I liked the lines of the Outback better, and it's extremely roomy inside. But mostly, it's the safety record and it's ability (I hope!) to get me up and down my driveway in Oklahoma's ice season that was my final decision point.
Looks like I've been mistaken once, too:-) Maybe that was an Outback I parked next to though I know they've both grown considerably over the years.
Congratulations on your new set of wheels. Now, you need to have some Route 66 stickers put all over it.
And I want the honor of parking my 10-year-old Silverado next to it and give it it's first door ding! :) (Juuuuuust kidding!)
Do you still have your Chrysler 300?
Thanks, Ron and Tim!
Trevor - I traded in the 300 and didn't get much for it, since it had almost 170,000 miles on it. I think I'll wait a while to cover it with stickers. Come see it, but park FAR from it. LOL!
Look awesome, congrats.
Superb! The color's not my type, actually, but that car's very perfect for you. And as long as you're happy with your new car, then you'll always get support from friends! =)
