There's a carnival on Route 66! If you're in the Red Fork area of West Tulsa and want some fun this weekend, follow Southwest Blvd. to the old Crystal City Shopping Center. It's not a big production, as carnivals go, but the cool part is that Crystal City actually was once the site of an amusement park, so those who were around Tulsa from the '20s to the '50s, can visit and bring back a few old Route 66 memories.
There's no roller coaster at this little carnival, but the tradition can be felt just by taking a spin on the ferris wheel or seeing the smiles on kids' faces. The activity is being sponsored by the Tulsa Young Professionals.
