The morning after

I fell asleep early last night with the TV on, then woke up in the middle of the night to see this scene. I smiled and went back to sleep.

Pretty cool, huh? I can't see these pictures yet without getting a tear in my eye. What an amazing time and incredible campaign. Now let's hope and pray that we can all work together to make things better for our country, our citizens, and our world.

Love, Beth

As a Christian, Conservative, gun-owning Republican, I thought yesteday was a National Day of Mourning.

I don't like John McCain, but I SURE don't like Barack Obama and his socialist beliefs.

And, no, his race means nothing to me.

Trevor: I don't agree with you, but after the past eight years, I am certainly aware of the special challenge we as Christians face when our elected officials disappoint us. It can be very difficult to respond in a Christian manner when government officials speak or act in ways we don't appreciate.

As a Christian, liberal, tonfa-owning Democrat, I will be spending the days between now and Jan. 20 in prayer for both President Bush and President-elect Obama. I invite you to do the same. I will be using the following verses to guide my prayers for (and attitude toward) both these men: Matt. 22:36-40; Matt. 5:44; Heb. 13:17; Rom. 13:1-7; 1 Pet. 2:13-17; Ex. 20:16.

Laurel: I just hope that Sasha and Malia don't decide they want that new puppy to be a rat terrier. The Secret Service has enough to do without trying to protect our new president from the likes of Scout. ;)

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Proverbs 21
1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD;
he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases.

Redforkhippie, I pray everyday. These two verses have been in my mind for sometime.
Barack Obama's support for abortion, which, to me, is killing a baby, troubles me, as a Christian. As one who likes to road-trip, his lack of support for drilling for our own oil troubles me. And I don't like his support for gun control.
However, he is our President, and I will continue praying for our country.
See Ya On The Road. If you see a man on a maroon Harley-Davidson Sportster wearing a black helmet decorated with Route 66 stickers, come tell me "Hi".
