Brad Nickson is our new OK Route 66 Assoc. president and a good friend and I've informed him of the ridiculous advice given to the travelers there. He'll let Marilyn know, I'm sure. I didn't mention it before, but the Info person also told him NOT to take the Ribbon Road because it would wreck his bike. I believe people should be told to use their own judgment on that. He went ahead and took both segments of the road and loved it. You just have to proceed slowly and cautiously. I'm assuming the visitor was traveling east to west since he did make it to Afton Station before heeding the advice he was given. Nothing to see?!!! Among the many terrific places to see on the stretch west of OKC are some that too good to miss--the wonderful visitors center at historic Fort Reno in El Reno, the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum in Clinton and the National 66 Museum in Elk City, prominent among them. What do you think about calling this "advice" to the attention of Marilyn Emde at the OK Route 66 Association office? Susan Yatesnoreply@blogger.com
