I'll keep Los Compadres in my mind for the next time I go over to the Elk City area.Laurelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03664721949113509873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729166837877316238.post-8793615928813863922012-07-09T09:17:03.266-05:002012-07-09T09:17:03.266-05:00Laurel,

We all enjoyed the cars; our daughter especially liked seeing all those white wall tires! As I noted above, the name of the restaurant in Elk City is Los (not Dos) Compadres. It seemed like a family-owned restaurant with food less like El Chico's and more like a good place in south Texas.
We visited the Boots Motel in Carthage, MO last month, and I just saw via the Route 66 News website that they received a matching grant to restore the flat roof--congrats to them!
We look forward to seeing you all and the U-Haul soon.Middayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08452059229774037445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729166837877316238.post-54481308403666240192012-07-08T13:43:03.921-05:002012-07-08T13:43:03.921-05:00My mistake, the name of the restaurant is Los Comp...My mistake, the name of the restaurant is Los Compadres.
http://www.city-data.com/ok-restaurants/LOS-COMPADRES2.htmlMiddayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08452059229774037445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729166837877316238.post-4364189887034268642012-07-08T09:51:56.284-05:002012-07-08T09:51:56.284-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Middayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08452059229774037445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729166837877316238.post-14417511838612241532012-07-07T04:59:34.283-05:002012-07-07T04:59:34.283-05:00I'm afraid I did read this too late to give th...I'm afraid I did read this too late to give them the Elk City recommendation, but I'll remember it for my own future trips there. It's a little off the beaten path, but it's good. Pedro's, on 66 (formerly Phillip Bell's famous Flamingo), will take care of your dining needs, as well, but, of the two, I'd choose Dos Compadres.Middayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08452059229774037445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729166837877316238.post-71661946940342396702012-07-05T18:45:34.811-05:002012-07-05T18:45:34.811-05:00Looking forward to the new treasure.
